BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Adrian is a founding partner of WHDA, and is the leader of the firm’s Prosecution Group. Mr. Adrian has experience in a wide variety of technologies in the chemical, semiconductor and mechanical arts, including alloys, batteries, capacitors, catalysts, ceramics, cleaning agents, compressors, electrodes, electroluminescence, electro photography, fibers, films, flame retardants, imaging, lasers, magnets, pigments, polymers, resists, superconductors, toners and wafers.

As the leader of the firm’s Prosecution Group, Mr. Adrian manages prosecution to ensure that each patent application is paired with an attorney’s technical expertise, so that clients can obtain timely and effective advice. Mr. Adrian works closely with the training of new attorneys to ensure quality of prosecution and the passing of knowledge and experience in all areas of patent prosecution including drafting successful responses to Office Actions, drafting effective appeal briefs and presenting persuasive oral arguments before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Mr. Adrian also has extensive experience in post-prosecution matters including reissue applications and ex parte and inter partes re-examinations.

Mr. Adrian began his IP career by attending law school at night and working at an IP boutique during the day. Mr. Adrian has also been a long-time member of the American Chemical Society as well as the American Intellectual Property Association.
